President Donald Trump of the United States was yesterday, the 5th day of February clearly acquitted by the senate on the charges leveled against him
The Senate acquitted President Trump on the two articles charged for impeachment, which are, mistreatment of power and obstruction of Congress.
It is on record that a good majority of the Senators voted 52-48 to free Trump on the charge of abuse of power while they voted 53-47 to acquit him on the Congress obstruction charge.
In his previous reply to his impeachment by the United States House of Representatives, President Donald Trump said the action of the lawmakers was actually geared or targeted at the Americans.
In a tweet displaying a ‘white and black’ single photograph and a message, released around 4.49 am Nigerian time, Trump said: “In reality, they are not after me, they are after you. I’m just in the way.”
He expressly viewed his impeachment as an attempted coup by the Democrats. While also reacting before a group of Americans, Trump described the Democrats as the ones bringing pains and suffering upon the people because of their selfish desires. He accused them of endangering America’s democracy.
More so, as President Trump delivered his State of the Union Speech on Tuesday, February 4th, the US’ lawmakers applauded him immensely while Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, ripped the statement handed over to her by the president.
Pelosi’s action came after Trump turned around to shake hands with the lawmakers seated behind him but snubbed the speaker who offered him a handshake. The speaker in what appeared to be savagery tore the statement she received from Trump into half while others applauded.
With the conclusion of the Senate trial, President Trump remains the US president and he is already on the move to be re-elected in November 2020.
