Queen Salome Musa Leads Campaign to Break Stigma Around Menstruation and Promote Gender Equality in Education

Tafa, Niger State - On October 17, 2024, the "Pad a Girl Child" initiative successfully distributed sanitary pads and provided menstrual hygiene education to over 600 girls at Aso Primary and Secondary School in Tafa Local Government, Niger State.

Led by Queen Salome Musa, the initiative aims to address period poverty and promote gender equality in education by ensuring girls have access to proper sanitary products and accurate information about menstrual health.

Many girls in underserved communities miss school or face stigma during menstruation due to a lack of access to sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene education. The "Pad a Girl Child" initiative seeks to empower girls by providing them with the necessary resources to manage their periods with dignity, helping them stay in school and reducing the challenges related to menstrual health.
